Here, you’ll find the Gubana Dorbolo’, the region’s beloved sweet, still made “just like in the old days” using the original recipe. But there’s more: seasonal pastries, handmade cookies, strucchi, freshly baked breads, viennoiserie, coffee, and breakfast treats, each crafted with care, born from a deep family tradition and made with love.

Defined by its signature spiral shape, the Gubana stands out for its generous and enveloping heart, which makes up over 30% of the product. It features a skillful blend of walnuts, hazelnuts, pine nuts, candied orange, and raisins, enriched by the aroma of rum.
The secret lies in the contrast between the soft, naturally leavened dough and the intense, aromatic center that, bite after bite, transports you directly to the truest and most genuine flavors of Friuli.

Not just one of Italy’s most beautiful villages… Cividale del Friuli is a place where history blends with flavor, where every stone tells a tale of the past and every scent brings alive authentic traditions. Nestled along the Natisone River, this town’s roots reach far back in time.
Founded by Julius Caesar and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011 as part of “The Lombards in Italy: The Places of Power,” Cividale invites you to explore stunning landmarks like the impressive Devil’s Bridge, the mysterious Lombard Temple, charming medieval streets, and countless historic squares.
With a rich and complex history stretching back to Roman times, when it was known as Forum Iulii, Cividale later became a major Lombard center and the capital of Italy’s first duchy. Over the centuries, it saw the rise and fall of various rulers, from the Franks and the Patriarchs of Aquileia to the Venetians, before joining the Kingdom of Italy in 1866.
In 2021, inspired by this city’s history, traditions, and timeless beauty, we opened our Gubana Boutique here, a special place to discover the genuine flavors of this land. A true journey through art, heritage, and sweetness.
The Natisone Valley Region
Tucked away in the heart of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Natisone Valleys are a hidden gem where untamed nature, unhurried rhythms, and living traditions come together.

Just a short drive from Cividale del Friuli, this landscape is also the source of our inspiration. From the raw ingredients and woodland aromas to the time-honored recipes passed down through generations, everything begins here, in this generous and soulful place.
It’s here, among these valleys, that the Gubana was born, the signature pastry of Friulian tradition.
